Tietjen is truly an exceptional individual, Old School Narc is a must-read!

Old School Narc is an engaging read. Honestly written with a touch of humor. Tietjen's emotions are felt throughout the pages.
A Marine Corp veteran who served his country during the Vietnam war returned home and continued to serve as an undercover narcotics officer.
Many sacrifices were made by Tietjen as well as his family.
Continuously changing his appearance and placing himself in harms way while keeping himself and others safe was an amazing feat.
Maintaing the integrity of his profession was important to him. Tietjen sheds light on how dealing with bureaucracy and technology changed his career as a "narc".

Haven't quite finished reading this true-life story of Neil's career ...

Haven't quite finished reading this true-life story of Neil's career as an undercover narc. He gave it his all for his family, his state and the country. It's riveting and hard to put down. Job well done by a courageous and patriotic American and Marine.

A must read by officers and the public

Great book and a real look into the dangers faced by many officers across the country. I'm amazed how our careers paralleled one another with him on the streets and me in administrative positions. Many of the names Neil refers to I recognize and or had interaction with. What a shame that he had to fight the criminal element and watch his back as the political type administrators postured for positions and power. The idiot that tried to disarm them and take away their certification is beyond contempt. While I fought similar political battles I never I never had to face the criminals and the power hungry at the same time.
Neil faced danger daily and we all owe him a lot. Neil you have my total respect.
