A Grace-Full Story of Redemption!

In Reaching for Life, Victoria Teague tells the story of her journey from grieving teenager to call girl at Atlanta’s top clubs to wife, mother, and founder of a non-profit Victoria’s Friends, a ministry to women who are transitioning out of the sex industry. If you have ever wondered what transformation of a life looks like, Victoria’s story, and the story of the women she describes in these pages, embodies it; her story is compelling and told in an authentic voice.
Victoria points unwaveringly to the Source of her healing, and lays out the elements likely to be part of a healing journey to wholeness. Things like mentors who love unconditionally, counseling, prayer, opportunity, purpose, and learning to listen and follow the voice of the Father.
After each chapter are questions that individuals or groups can use to help facilitate reflection and application of the content. While there are good reasons to include the questions between chapters, I found it a little disruptive to the flow of the narrative and would have preferred the questions at the end; but that is a minor distraction.
In essence, this is a story of redemption. For those trapped in a dark place, despairing that things could be different, it will be a lifeline. For anyone, it will inspire reflection on how the ashes in our own lives might be woven together to create a beautiful tapestry.

Like a bag of chips, you can't stop at just a few (pages).

Oh my!! I didn't know what I was getting into when I casually looked over the first few pages of a book I had set aside to read in the near future. It simply could not wait and I found myself turning page after page of a captivating story. They say that truth is stranger than fiction, and that is the case here. What an eye opener to the underbelly of our society that so many know nothing about, and I can assure you that you will never pass by another adult business and not be reminded of Victoria's story. People may think of Jesus in terms of religion, but her story is proof of the fact that it is nothing about religion, quite the opposite, but all about a relationship with the Creator of the universe and your very soul that transforms lives in the most radical way possible, in a way that only He can do. I challenge you to read this book and learn about Pam Younker and not have your world wrecked by what you read!

ENCOURAGEMENT AND HEALING!

WOW! This is an amazing book. Sometimes I would read until 3:00am. I couldn't put it down! Some of it really hit home to me. I was searching for love and attention in the wrong people and places before I gave my life to Christ. He filled that void for me. Victoria sharing her battles with addiction and how God can heal us and use us for his glory. God used her to to start an outreach ministry to help other ladies dealing with the same addictions. This book will help all of us to see how we can turn to God to heal our wounds from the past and now. Thank you Victoria sharing and Connie for writing this book. God Bless!
