Gripping Tales from "Beyond"

Like some of the flights described within, this story has wonderful pacing. It breathes. You gasp for air and strain under the excitement of fast jets and earnest will, then unload to catch your breath with some thoughtful reflection, only to BOOP, find yourself back in the thick of it, all hot steel and razor intention. From hard, technical descriptions to poignant, swelling loss, this is a bantam treatise of Naval Aviation--short and aggressive, stripped down to the muscle, bone, and marrow. It's a tribute to "those in peril in the air", a tribute to service, a tribute to excellence.

The title is also far deeper than it first appears.

I highly recommend it.

A remarkable story of survival

The beautiful, touching and important story of a man who -- after surviving Auschwitz -- somehow has been able to live a full life. His life is devoted to family, friends and strangers -- for whom he is a source of courage. He tells his story to students all over Europe and receives letters from many readers as well as drawings from school children in response. The story is at once personal and unforgettable.

About the Author
OS HILLMAN owned and operated an ad agency for 12 years, serving clients such as American Express and Steinway & Sons pianos. Today he is founder and president of Marketplace Leaders, an organization whose purpose is to help men and women fulfill their God-ordained calling in and through their work life. He is also president of the International Coalition of Workplace Ministries (ICWM) and Aslan Group Publishing, and directs an online website called faithandworkresources.com. Os is an internationally recognized speaker on the subject of faith and work, speaks to business groups and churches, and writes on various faith and work-related subjects. He is a faculty member of the Wagner Leadership Institute on Workplace Ministry. One of best books I have EVER read!

If you have ever said; "God, where are you?", or "God, why have you forgotten me?", or "God, why are you punishing me?", or "God, please take me home now!", this is a must read. For anyone who has been in an extended period of trial where nothing seems to work, and lots of things are going wrong, Os Hillman's book will give you tremendous hope and encouragement for the process and the future. You will see yourself on these pages, and you will also see David, Joseph, Paul, the other apostles and Jesus Christ himself. You will learn how your time of trial is actually a period of transformation from the old you to the new you that God is going to work through for his glory. You have been specifically chosen by God because he loves you and recognizes who you are and what your potential is. You are that precious and important to him that you have been selected to be refined by the fire, and go through God's training program in order that you might fulfill the destiny God has planned for you. Much as a caterpillar has to on its own struggle to emerge from its chrsyalis to become a beautiful butterfly, you will see how we have to struggle on our own through a similar process before we emerge as the beautiful creation God meant us to be. Mills has become one of the most influential figures in nineteenth-century philosophy, and his writings are still widely studied and analyzed by scholars. Mills died in 1873 at the age of 66.

Mill states here that he still believes traditional gender roles (as we now call them) are desirable, but, being John Mill, he passionatly believes in the freedom of lifestyle choice for the individual. Hard to argue with that.

Mill's Best Work

The Subjection of Women is an often overlooked classic by one of history's greatest minds. Published at the end of Mill's life, The Subjection brings together all of Mill's most important views on liberty, utility, human nature, and society. It paints a far more accessable ethic than more famous works, such as On Liberty. Mill uses his philosophical views to reach conclusions that were long ahead of his time, and in many ways continue to outpace our understanding of gender and society. This work is arguably the best feminist writing ever, and the best commentary on morality and social evolution.

Today, Mill's work continues to provide us with a framework for understanding social movements such as the gay rights and animal rights movements. Mill shows us how just institutions are vital to the happiness of both society and the individual, as these institutions are central to the formation of our characters. He shows us how both the oppressor and the oppressed are harmed by unjust institutional arrangements, such as gender inequalities in the family. In sum, Mill's The Subjection of Women is perhaps the finest piece of social and political philosophy produced in the modern era, and should be read by all interested in social justice, feminism, or ethics.

A must read!

I've never been swept up by a book, let alone a biography, like I have been by Stormchaser. With adventure and danger you'd only expect to find in fiction, my eyes devoured each page, alternately rushing ahead to see what happens and backtracking so as to not miss a single word. A fire, awakened recently in my own heart for missions, was kindled today as I "experienced" each call and subsequent storm in Terry's life through the words of his story. My own insecurities reflected in his, feelings of inadequacy to do God's work staring back at me from those pages. And finally, the truth that God calls and equips the humble if they would hear His voice and obey.

What are you chasing? This book is a MUST READ!

From the very first page of Storm Chaser I was hooked! (Move over Mission Impossible, enter Storm Chaser.) James Gilbert has this incredible way of telling a story and placing you right in the center of the action. I was captivated and excited to hear of Terry Law's boldness and passion for Christ and His people. His life was and is certainly not boring. I was also encouraged by the truth that God WANTS to use His people, people like myself, in the same way he has used Terry Law to spread His Word to nations. Thank you James Gilbert for telling this story!

With a short attention span, I don't finish a ...

With a short attention span, I don't finish a book too quickly. But the Storm Chaser was so gripping and inspiring, I couldn't stop reading it. This is so well written thanks to the masterful pen of James Gilbert. What Terry Law has done his entire life is to find the most challenging areas of the world for the Gospel and go there. This should make every Christian reassess their values, step up to the plate, and make a difference in this world.

One sick individual and to think because she was an aristocrat she was left to live behind a walled up castle tower whereas her lowly-borne accomplishes were burnt alive after undergoing prolonged and public torture. Not quite fair in my opinion tho book was a quick, entertaining read. For those that wish to read further I'd also suggest "Countess Elizabeth Bathory: The Life and Legacy of History's Most Prolific Female Serial Killer" published by Charles River Editors on July 21st as they generally do a very good treatment of the subject matter. I'll be looking forward to reading that myself very soon as I just made the purchase. Good books to 'sink your teeth into' - haha!

While it's not comprehensive, being only one speech, it's helpful in gaining insight on his views on the topics covered. The Germanic people at the time were naturally refining, via distinction and negation, their understanding on all their positions as is normal for expanding body politics - it's the same dynamic natural process that all living societies perpetuate.

It's very helpful for genuine Hitler/NSDAP students but no so much for V. K. Clark's disingenuous Whiteaphobic jew-supremacist hateful ethno-cult hit-piece writing trolls. As the American Medical Establishment (also funded/controlled by the deception-based hateful ethno-cult, doesn't want the non-cult people to learn about the effects an organic diet has on restoring and maintaining health, so the hate-cult doesn't want people to learn about a system and righteous strong-man who used its basic formulations to lead a non-jew collective-people to gain natural/normal moral social-health restoration, ethno-purpose, organic-gifts/callings fulfilment in function and economic prosperity free from their disease-ridden, life-blood draining crypto-predatory parasites. It pretty much goes against the jew particularist ethic of, first and foremost, doing only what's good for jews at the expense of everyone else.

THE BOOK DOES NOT REVEAL THE "WHOLE" STORY

V. K.K.K. Clark's book leaves out important details of Hitler's speech. Specifically,Hitler detailed his plans to build luxury condos for Europe's Jews along Germany's Northern coast. Furthermore,Hitler offered reparations to all Soviet citizens who were displaced by the Nazi invasion of the U.S.S.R. in 1941.Finally,Hitler offered to relax the previously-rigid race requirements governing admission to the Waffen S.S. and allow members of African origin to serve in its combat divisions. I cannot fathom why V. K.K.K. Clark would fail to mention these important details,but omit them she did! ONE-STAR!
